n. [L. saliva, spit]
1. (ARTHROPODA: Chelicerata)
In Acarina, the chamber in the buccal cone into which the salivary ducts open.
2. (ARTHROPODA: Insecta)
The small cavity behind the hypopharynx and between it and the labium into which the salivary duct opens.
